Hi La Cumbre Comminity,
Wow! What an amazing week of community activities. Our Winter Festival on Friday night was a huge success. Thanks to all of you parents who cooked, baked, volunteered, donated, and attended the event. A resounding thanks to AP Mike Alvarez for coordinating the event. Thanks also to the La Cumbre staff for their participation and assistance. Also, thanks to Earl Warren Showgrounds for the facilities and Miguel Luna of Luna Jumps for the inflatable slide. We also thank Patricia Madrigal, Thrive Westside Coordinator for supporting and helping at all of our events. We are hoping to make this an annual event for the PTA.
On Saturday, our band, drumline, drill team and elves performed in the Milpas Holiday Parade. Our entry was awesome and appreciated by the crowds. A special thanks to Nancy Mathison, instrumental music teacher, and Maria Yescas, Drill Team parent helper, for leading our groups. It was another proud day for La Cumbre Junior HIgh School.
REMINDER - Movie/Activity Day has been changed to Friday, December 16th for the coming week. The Homework List will be submitted on Tuesday and distributed on Wednesday. We are hoping to clear as many students as possible from the longer than usual list. Students will also be permitted to clear until Friday at noon. On Friday afternoon, there will be a "Thanks for Your Hard Work" celebration for students not on the homework list in the afternoon with popcorn, cotton candy, snow cones, and a movie. No 7th period. Please check Edline for an update on assignments and missing work.

Tickets are now on sale at www.lobero.com for our February 12th Los Lonely Boys concert. We are expecting the theater to be sold out, so don't delay in purchasing your tickets. We will also have tickets for sale at the school starting in January.
LOST N FOUND? We've collected quite a bit. Items not picked up by 12/16- items will be donated to Salvation Army.
Can you help?? 3rd Annual PJ's & Socks Drive for men, women and children to be donated to Casa Esperanza and Transition House. New PJ's and socks can be dropped off at the counseling office until Friday, December 16th.
On behalf of the staff of La Cumbre, we wish all of you a safe and happy winter break. School will resume on Tuesday, January 3.

- Tuesday, December 13 - BMX Bike Show sponsored by ASB for those students who sold items from the Delights catalog.
- Tuesday, December 13 – Thrive Westside Parent Input Group – 5 – 7 p.m. in Room 104.
- Friday, December 16 - Movie/Activity Day - No 7th Period.
- Friday, December 16 - Pajama Day - Students wear PJ's to school.
- Friday, December 16 – Homeroom Competition – Donut eating contest.
- Friday, December 16 - Harvest of the Month - Persimmons.
- December 17 - January 2 - Winter Break - Classes resume on Tuesday, January 3.
- Friday, January 20 - Minimum Day - End of Semester - All students dismissed at 11:20.
- Friday, January 20 - Zero Period Musical Show in the Theater at 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, January 24 – PIQE starts – 5:30 – 7 in the Theater.
- Thursday, January 26 PIQE - Parent Institute for Quality Education.
- Wednesday, February 1 - Open House for incoming 7th grade families.
- Sunday, February 12 – Los Lonely Boys benefit concert 8 p.m. in the Theater.
