Hi La Cumbre Comminity,
I hope you all enjoyed Friday, Veterans' Day and took the time to remember our military men and women.
Yes, it was another action packed week yet short week at La Cumbre. The Pantry Program took place on Tuesday after school, distributing over 6,000 pounds of food to La Cumbre Families. On Thursday, noon events were canceled so that students could hear a live performance in the Quad by the teen rock group False Puppet. The band rocked, the girls screamed, and a great time was enjoyed by the entire school. Even the adults were dancing. The band signed autographs for an appreciative student body.
This coming week has many activities for all of your interests:
* Career Day during Tuesday morning. Students will have the opportunity to meet with 4 speakers to hear about and ask questions about careers.

* PTA General Meeting on Tuesday at 6:30 in Room 104
* Autism Society Parent Training at 6:30 on Tuesday in Room 102
* Strumming for Students on Friday, November 18th at the Creekside Inn to raise money for instruments at La Cumbre 6:30 - 1:30 a.m.. Admission is $10 and all ages are welcome until 9 p.m. La Cumbre drumline will perform at 6:30. The current federal ESEA legislation (No Child Left Behind) is being reauthorized and revised as proposed by President Obama. - Tuesday, November 15 – GATE Parent Meeting at 5:45 in Room 109.
- Tuesday, November 15 – PTA General Meeting at 6:30 in Room 104.
- Tuesday, November 15 – Autism Society Parent Training at 6:30 in Room 102 regarding regarding Special Ed.
- Thursday, November 17 – VIP (Very Improved Performer) Luncheon at the Assistance League.
- Friday, November 18 – Renaissance Assembly at 1:30 for 1st Quarter grader.
- Friday, November 18 – Harvest of the Month.
- Saturday, November 19 – Instruments for Kids Concert – Creekside – 6:30 p.m. – 1:30 a.m. Benefit for musical instruments at La Cumbre
- Monday & Tuesday, November 21-22 – Science Trips for 7th & 8th Graders.
- Wednesday – Friday, November 23-25 – Thanksgiving Recess – No School.
- Friday, December 2 – State Street Holiday Parade – La Cumbre Band, Drill Team & Drumline to perform.
- Friday, January 20 - Minimum Day - End of Semester - All students dismissed at 11:20.
- Friday, January 20 - Zero Period Musical Show in the Theater at 7 p.m.
- Sunday, February 12 – Los Lonely Boys benefit concert 8 p.m. in the Theater.
